OUR FAMILY

One of the most unexpected joys we have discovered from our farming adventures has been finding a lifestyle that involves working together as a family. No matter if the day brings rain, heat or animals on the run. . . we’ve got each others’ backs. Farming has brought our family closer in ways we couldn’t have ever imagined or dreamed of. And we’re grateful for it!

RALPH AND TRACEY

Ralph runs a small business called Enrollment Management Services, in Madeira, Ohio. He is a master problem-solver, like creating a floating sling and cast to help our lamb Eleanor heal her broken leg. He loves to help the farm run more efficiently, and gets involved in every project. When we are in-between big jobs, he loves to get out a chainsaw or axe and replenish our firewood stack. Tracey is the key to everything about the farm. She is the engine that keeps this train running. It’s her dream that has made this farm come to life. She talks to the lambs, and they come running when they hear her voice. She listens to the pigs yap their sweet treats, and she thanks the hens for their daily eggs. She is our “yes-girl”, and always finds more room in her heart to look out for those around her.

TAYLOR AND MEGAN

Taylor is the oldest of the bunch and works at Enrollment Management Services. Taylor has found a good balance between work and play (work and pickle ball, that is). He and his wife Megan have been married for ten years and have four children: May, Dixie, Forrest, and Ivy. They live about 30 minutes from the farm, but join us every Sunday for family fun. Their girls are the best farm helpers! They love feeding the animals and swimming in the pool all summer.

BETH AND BOB

Beth and her husband Bob recently made a big move to the big island of Hawaii with their five children Stella, Max, Lucy, Angus, and Summer. They are a crazy fun family who love spending their time at the farm finding frogs and crawdads, going on river walks, and collecting eggs. They are expert egg cleaners. But best of all, they love playing in the forest collecting all kinds of leaves, bugs, and sticks to take home and learn more about.

BRENT

Brent lives and works at the farm full time. He’s in charge of making sure all the day-to-day chores get done and is completely in charge of our maple syrup program. Although he also has Cystic Fibrosis, he can more often than not be found grubbing in the woods and completing other necessary tasks like mending fences and sorting sheep.

JAKE AND LYNNETTE

Jake and Lynnette live at the farm with their four children, June, Wesley, Eden, and Brynn. They both graduated from Brigham Young University in April of 2019. Jake is now a third year medical student at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Lynnette is in charge of all things flowers! The kids love to help feed the animals, collect maple sap, and make new recipes in the kitchen!

AARON AND EMILY

Aaron and Emily recently moved back to Cincinnati. Aaron works in Madeira. They both enjoy tending to the garden, trying new recipes for the family, and making wooden bowls on the lathe.

BEN

Ben recently returned home from serving a two year mission for our church in Singapore and Malaysia. He learned Mandarin Chinese while out in the field.  He’s super handy hard worker and can build anything . . . Like a skate ramp in the woods. He’s built all of the animals’ shelter on the farm. He’s crazy talented!

BRIDGER

Bridger recently graduated from high school and is studying at Brigham Young University – Hawaii. He makes DELICIOUS beef jerky with his secret recipe he’s been working on for the past few years!  While at the farm, he’s always experimenting with new ways to season and grill our beef and pork. He also built a rock climbing wall in the barn where the entire family can climb together!

LILLIE

Lillie is our caboose! We adore her sweet and fun spirit. She plays hard! She’s 12 years old and has the time of her life with cousins and friends at the farm. She loves learning how to do backflips into the pool, riding her scooter, riding the horses, and playing with the kittens. We love her fun personality and her no-complaints attitude.
